The Hand Closing Tool is made from tool steel and is used to manually close and crimp eyelets.
When working with the hand closing tool, we recommend that you work on a solid, even surface. The hand closing tool works in conjunction with the Hollow Punch. Using the Hollow Punch, one needs to make a hole in the material before placing the eyelet on the closing tool. The eyelet is crimped closed by hitting the hand closing tool with a heavy hammer at a straight angle.
Suitable for TG 4 AND TG 7 eyelets.
TG7 Self-Piercing Eyelets. The eyelets are made from Stainless Steel (304) .
The eyelets are self-piercing. The female part of the eyelets, also known as the washer, has teeth that grip onto PVC, Ripstop Canvas and other materials. The teeth hook into material when crimped together with the male part of the eyelet. A hole is made in the material when the male and female are crimped together using an Eyelet Closing Tool. When rope is thread through the eyelets and pulled tight, the teeth prevent the eyelets from tearing out of the material.
The TG7 eyelets have an inside dimeter of 12.5mm and an outside diameter of 26.5mm. Stainless Steel is rust free, allowing for outdoor use.
Stretch cord or bungee cord of up to 12mm thickness can weave through the TG7 eyelet comfortably and hook onto a lacing hook.
