Technical information
How to choose the right size for your MT500 mattress?
This model is available in L and XL versions.
The difference between the 2 sizes is in length (180 cm for L; 195 cm for XL) and width (52 cm for L; 60 cm for XL).
To choose the mattress that suits you best, you must of course take into account your height, but not only that.
Your build and/or your preference for space at shoulder level must also be taken into consideration.
So, even if you are 1.75 cm tall, you may prefer the XL!
How to inflate your MT500 Air Isolant mattress?
To avoid blowing moisture inside the mattress, we recommend using the pump bag of the cover.
To do this, unroll the pump bag/cover in its entirety. Connect the pump bag valve to the “IN” valve of your mattress. Blow approximately 10 – 20 cm from the pump bag entrance, to inflate the main volume as much as possible. Roll the bag up to the valve to expel the air from the main volume into your mattress.
Little tip for sleeping well on your MT500 Air Insulating mattress
Once lying down, remember to adjust the inflation pressure of the mattress by lightly pressing the IN valve (open cap). A mattress that is too hard is often synonymous with discomfort.
Silicone patches on the top of the mattress are intended to reduce the slipping of your sleeping bag on the mattress.
How to fix a leak on your MT500 Air Isolant mattress?
An inflatable mattress is not puncture-proof but it can be repaired!
When using it, you must take the greatest possible care in its installation and handling.
In the event of a problem, we recommend using self-adhesive repair patches (ref: 8557113).
What is R-Value?
R-Value is the measure of thermal resistance. It measures the ability of a mattress to retain or prevent heat from escaping from a warm body (the human body) to a cold ground.
The higher the R-Value, the better the insulation of the mattress.
It is important to know that R-Values are additive; this means that you can use 2 mattresses and add their R-Values.
All our mattresses are tested according to the ASTM F3340-18 standard.
Which R-Value for which use?
R-value from 0 to 1.9: Use in warm season (summer) only
R-value from 2 to 3: Use over 3 seasons (spring-summer-autumn)
R-value from 3 to 6: Use over 4 seasons
R-value > 6: Use over 4 seasons and in extreme conditions (glacier, far north and high altitude)
