Please stand the unit upright on a flat surface when charging. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions and image guidance.

How long does the GMC cupboard dehumidifier take to charge?

Charging time can vary based on factors like humidity and charging environment. In an ideal situation, it takes 10-15 hours to recharge, although this can take significantly longer in high humidity/damp environments. For faster charging, place the unit in a dry area or expose it to sunlight during charging to speed up the drying process of the silicon granules.

Here are a few things to consider when charging the dehumidifier:

Please remember that when charging the unit, it is still drawing moisture from the surrounding environment. If you are charging the unit in a high-humidity, wet, or damp area, the unit can take significantly longer to fully charge and turn the silicon granules pink (dry).

Consider charging the Mini dehumidifier in a dry area for a quicker charging time. You can also place it in the sun while charging, which will speed up the drying process of the silicon granules.

How long does the GMC Mini dehumidifier work before needing charging?

It is entirely dependent on the environment in which you are using the dehumidifier. As an example, in drier areas with low humidity or damp, the unit can work for a few weeks before needing charging, but if you’re using the mini dehumidifier in a high-humidity area with damp, the unit may need charging within 12-24 hours.

My humidity reader isn’t showing any change in humidity. What should I do?

This mini dehumidifier is designed to gradually reduce humidity in enclosed spaces. Instantaneous changes may not be visible on a humidity meter. If you require a more rapid reduction in humidity, consider using a larger GMC Dehumidifier from our range.

These dehumidifiers are designed to draw moisture out of enclosed spaces without a power supply, and this process can take some time to achieve, which is why your humidity meter will not show any instantaneous changes in humidity.

Is there a charging light or LED indicator on the mini dehumidifier?

No, there is no charging light on the cupboard dehumidifier, this is to reduce the use of electrical components within the product and bring you a more cost-effective dehumidifier. Charging is indicated by the gradual change in the colour of the silicon granules. You may also feel warmth on the back of the unit during charging (This is entirely normal) Please allow charging to continue until the silicon granules turn pink (dry).
