Garcinia Cambogia Extract is a small orange size, pumpkin shaped fruit native to South East Asia. The weight loss benefits of Garcinia Cambogia are primarily attributable to its Hydroxycitric Acid ( HCA ) content. Several studies have suggested that Hydroxycitric acid plays an important role in the regulation of endogenous lipid biosynthesis (fat accumulation). It is hypothesized that this occurs through the inhibition of alpha – amylase & intestinal alpha – glucosidase, leading to a reduction in carbohydrate metabolism. Additional studies have also suggested that HCA may positively influence appetite reduction.
