Irvingia Gabonensis (IG) is the Latin name of the tree grown in Central and West Africa that produces a fruit similar to a mango and nicknamed African Mango. The African Mango contains Leptin, the satisfaction hormone. Leptin is a protein hormone that plays a large role in letting the body know when it has had enough to eat. High levels of leptin send signals to the brain of fullness, so you are less likely to fall victim to mindless eating and food cravings. The African Mango may delay stomach emptying. This delay may help prevent blood sugar spikes. Blood sugar spikes can lead to food cravings.
