The head comes with a quick release plate which is also forward and backward position able to create a better balance. The head can pan 360 degrees with markings useful for capturing panoramic images. There is also a spirit level to let you know when you set the camera up perfectly horizontal.

The centre column is extendable, it has a twist lock which allows it to further raise the height of the camera. This is what allows such a compact tripod to still achieve such great working heights. At the base of the column is a hook which you can attach a sand bag too. This is a great trick to get tripods even more stabile and sturdy. This centre column is also able to pull out and screw onto the detachable leg, thus creating the monopod with ball head.
