Koch Knives Engraved Cnut Axe – MB-VA-0006
Koch Cnut Skeggox (Old Norse: Bearded Axe) Style Axe is a one-handed axe that was in use throughout the Viking Age. The name is derived from the elongated lower portion of the axe head that provides a wide cutting surface without increasing the total weight.
The extended part also makes it very well suited for catching shields and weapons. The shaft is treated, polished rosewood. A hand-sewn leather protector is included.

Store your axe correctly to keep it rust free. Don t store you axe in a leather sheath for an extended period. Moisture and chemicals in the leather can cause your blade to rust. You blade needs to be dry and lubricated before storage.
Remember, even the most advanced steels will rust if not cared for properly.
A skeggox is not a heavy-duty wood chopping axe. The blade is thin and made for cutting, whilst a wood chipping axe has a wedge-shaped blade to withstand the impact. The elongated parts of the blade are especially vulnerable for heavy impacts since they have no “backing”. They are there to minimize weight and increase the cutting edge.
