Component waterproofing of this jacket:
The waterproofness of a fabric, provided by a coating or membrane, is measured in schmerber or mm h 0 (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.

Resistance to wear:
We test our fabrics in the laboratory on various criteria, including abrasion resistance to reproduce the friction of backpack straps. We conduct a standardised martindale test, which rubs the jacket’s fabric against another fabric. The aim is to measure the point at which the product starts to become worn & the pilling begins. The jacket passes the test easily as it reaches 20,000 cycles on the martindale, above the average for other jackets on the market

Test product
This jacket was first tested in the laboratory, on a whole set of factors (warmth, waterproofing, durability). It was then tested by a small panel of users, at the heart of our global development centre, to assess the comfort, fit and practical features. Finally, it was inspected in the field by volunteer customers as part of a test mission, as are several of decathlon’s products
