You Are A Beginner Surfer
You are learning to surf or surf only a few times a year, during your holidays or a surf trip. You stay where you can touch the bottom, in tiny waves or broken waves. You surf for the pleasure of being in the water and for the feeling you get from it. During your sessions, you often fall but you fall in waves that are not very powerful. We have designed a wide range of swimwear for you, to suit your occasional practice and your body shape.

Whether you be a surfer or enjoy bathing in the sea, you don’t want to lose your swimsuit! This is why we test all our swimsuits in the waves. Each model is designed for surfing and perfectly suits other water sports: stand-up paddle boarding, sailing, kite surfing, bathing, etc.

Design Feat
Women who wear a size larger than a D-cup very often tend to look for supportive and underwired swimwear in their size. Our teams worked for almost 2 years to create this ASTRID balconette with fabric underwire. It also bears the name of our garment designer! It took more than 20 prototypes and trials on all types of body shapes to guarantee support and comfort. The straps and the band size are adjustable.

Innovation // Fabric Underwire
Many women want underwired swimwear for the support and shape they provide. However, underwires are rigid and often not very comfortable, particularly if you want to do water sports. They can interfere with the proper fit of the swimsuit in the waves, a promise of Olaian swimsuits. That’s why we developed the ASTRID swimsuit. Centimetre by centimetre, our teams created a fabric underwire that is ultra comfortable and perfectly supports the bust.

Stays In Place In The Waves: The Test
We design swimsuits that promise to stay in place in the waves. To test them, we use a panel of female surfers with different body shapes who will follow a test protocol in a pool at our design offices in Hendaye. This protocol aims to reproduce the sensations experienced by surfers when being thrown around by a wave. If this test is conclusive, we go surfing in the sea to test our swimwear in real conditions.

Comfortable In Our Swimwear
Our aim is to help women feel good in our swimsuits. They do not squash the bust or dig in at the buttocks and there are different levels of coverage to choose from. Our mission is to ensure that every woman, whatever her body type or size, can find swimwear that suits her.

Is the size or style not suitable for you? Would you like to exchange it at your Decathlon store? No problem, just be sure not to cut off the label of the swimsuit in case you want to exchange it.

Olaian, Decathlon’s Surf Brand
Based in Hendaye, in South West France, OLAIAN is Decathlon’s new surfing and bodyboarding brand. In our offices at the water’s edge, we can design a swimsuit and then on the same day test it directly in the sea to check it stays in place in the waves.

This product has been tested in use in Hendaye and has been subjected to numerous laboratory tests to guarantee the quality of use for which it was designed: tests on the fabric’s stretch and stability, colour-fastness when rubbed, washed, exposed to sea water, chlorinated water and light, and tests on the product’s overall performance after several washes.
