Intended purpose:
The medical device Kolodium forte is intended for human use for patients with damaged skin (warts, corns, calloused skin), for gentle removal of hard, calloused skin, corns and warts in a way that it separates the top, ripe, corneous, fully keratinized layer of the skin by a so-called keratolytic effect.

Warning:
Pregnant or nursing women and children younger than 3 years of age should use the device following consultation with a professional physician.

Additional Information:
Kolodium forte is a solution consisting of medicinal substances. The effect is achieved by the activity of salicylic acid, which softens the top layer of the skin and has the ability to dissolve inter-cellular mass by a keratolytic effect (separating the top, fully keratinized layer of the skin). Moreover, this effect is supported by the action of lactic acid, which also has a burning effect and decreases hyperkeratosis.

Additionally, the product further contains 0.16% (w/w) of purified turpentine from pine resin (Terebinthinae etheroleum rectificatum). Terpene compounds of pinen, camphen and limonen have anti-septic effects, promote blood circulation, increase resorption of pathologically altered tissue and contribute to the formation of granulation tissue.

Celandine (Chelidonium majus)
Celandine extract contains alkaloids (especially chelidonine, chelidoxanthin, sanquinarine). Chelidonine is the main active substance in Celandine. In traditional medicine, the extract is particularly used for removing warts; as a dry, powder drug for chronic eczema and psoriasis. Though nowadays, it has been used, for example, as a compound for removing dandruff.

Northern white-cedar (Thuja occidentalis)
The extract from the non-wooden parts of Northern white-cedar branches is full of monoterpenes (especially thujone, isothujone, fenchone, sabinene and alpha-pinene). These substances reduce the production of oil secretion (they are characterized by so-called anti-seborrheic effect). Additionally, they are also valued for their toning and soothing effect.
