The PST5042 stepper drive is a very versatile digital stepping drive that utilizes an innovative control algorithm and DSP technology. Function Description:

• Micro step resolution: 16 selectable resolutions with a maximum of 25,600 steps per rev. Set by DIP switch SW5, 6, 7, 8.
• Current Setting: The DIP switch's SW1, SW2, and SW3 control the operating current, which is up to 4.2A.
• Automated Standstill Current Reduction: 0.4 seconds after the previous pulse, the current will automatically drop to 50% of the chosen operating current.
• Control Signals: The pulse command signal is represented by PUL+ and PUL-. For the direction control signal, use DIR+ and DIR-. The control signal's enable/disable is represented by ENA+ and ENA.
• Motor Connector: For motor connections, use A+, A-, and B+, B-. The default motion direction can be changed by swapping the two wire connections for a coil on the drive.
• Power Connector: It's advised to utilize power supplies with output voltages between +24 and +48 VDC to allow for fluctuations in power and back-EMF.
• Two LED indicators are present on the drive to indicate power and alarm signals. The drive is powered on when the green LED is lit up. The drive is in fault condition when the red LED illuminates. The motor shaft will be free in fault status. After resolving the issue(s), reset the drive by giving it more power.
