Rubio Monocoat SheenPlus – 390 ml

SheenPlus is a 0% VOC wood finish that provides a durable satin look to wooden surfaces that have been treated with Oil Plus 2C. This product may be applied on all indoor wood surfaces, including furniture, countertops, tables, stairs, walls, floors, etc., treated with Oil Plus 2C. The combination of the oil (A) and accelerator (B) ensures a fast cure time, resulting in excellent protection. Plus, it’s solvent and water- free.

Preparation:

SheenPlus is designed to be used over wood surfaces treated with Oil Plus 2C.

On unfinished wood surfaces: First, apply Oil Plus 2C to the wooden surface. Refer to the Oil Plus 2C technical data sheet for application instructions. After a drying time of at least 24 hours, the SheenPlus can be applied.

On a surface that has previously been treated with Oil Plus 2C and where the colour is still intact: Clean the surface thoroughly with water and All Natural Wood Cleaner or Deep Cleaner. Rinse well with water to remove all soap residues. Once the surface is completely dry, SheenPlus can be applied.

On a surface that has previously been treated with Oil Plus 2C and where the colour also needs to be restored: First renovate the surface with Oil Plus 2C, in the colour with which the surface was originally treated. Consult the TDS for Oil Plus 2C renovation guidelines. After a drying time of 24 hours, the SheenPlus can be applied.

Instructions:

Application on furniture and tables:

STEP 1. Let the Oil Plus 2C dry for at least 24 hours.
STEP 2. Thoroughly mix the two components together for 1 to 2 minutes, ensuring a ratio of approximately 3 units A to 1 unit B.
STEP 3. Apply the SheenPlus with a brush, sponge, … and spread further with a red Scrubby Pad. Within 15 minutes, go over the same surface again with the red Scrubby Pad without adding additional product.
STEP 4. Wipe again with a white Scrubby Pad.
STEP 5. Remove any streaks and/or surface irregularities with a lint-free cloth.
STEP 6. Immediately after wiping with the cloth, wipe the oiled surface one more time with the same white pad that was used in STEP 4 (make sure to use the oily side of the pad to do this final step). Wipe the surface in a circular motion and finish wiping the surface in the length of the boards to finish the SheenPlus application.
STEP 7. Let dry for at least 24 hours before using the surface. To ensure effective drying and curing, it is important to maintain proper ventilation and temperature. Full curing takes place after 7 days.

Application on floors:

Step 1. Let the Oil Plus 2C dry for at least 24 hours.
Step 2. Thoroughly mix the two components together for 1 to 2 minutes, ensuring a ratio of approximately 3 units A to 1 unit B.
Step 3. Apply the SheenPlus using a floor polisher with a red Rubio Monocoat pad. Spread the product so that no irregularities can be seen in the treated area. Preferably treat areas of 2 to 4 m (20 to 40 SF) (areas that are not too wide). Make sure you can easily treat the area with the polishing machine without stepping in wet product.

Tip: If the layout of the area being treated does not allow you to work without standing in the still wet product, use (half) a white pad to stand on during application.

Step 4. Within 15 minutes, finish this area with a white Rubio Monocoat pad until the surface is completely even and rubbed dry.
Step 5. Repeat these treatments over the entire surface in areas that can be treated within 15 minutes.
Step 6. Let dry for at least 24 hours before carefully walking on the surface. To ensure effective drying and curing, it is important to maintain proper ventilation and temperature. Full curing takes place after 7 days.

Maintenance Instructions Renovation/maintenance:

If the product starts to show too much wear (traffic pattern), you can easily solve this by applying a new coat. First, make sure to remove any dust and dirt prior to applying a maintenance coat. Refer to the steps on pages 2-3 for the proper cleaning and application instructions.

When Oil Plus 2C colour wear is evident, first perform a repair/renovation with the original Oil Plus 2C colour (Part A & B must be used for the colour restoration). After that, let dry for at least 24 hours. Then, apply SheenPlus to the repaired area and let it dry for 24 hours. After that, apply SheenPlus to the entire surface.
