Vit B-6 exists in nature in 3 major chemical forms: pyridoxine, pyriodoxal and pyridoxamine.

Your body requires P5P for various functions including muscle growth and repair, neurotransmitter functions and energy metabolism. As a coenzyme, P5P also participates in many chemical reactions and catalyzes the conversion of many substances in your body.
Pyridoxine is water soluble and stable in heat and acid mediums, while it is unstable in alkaline solutions and light.7 Pyridoxine and its vitamers are absorbed in the upper small intestine

Vit B-6 is a cofactor for more than 50 different enzymes. It is involved in amino acid, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism and plays a role in the action of steroid hormones.

P5P plays a fundamental role in amino acid metabolism, heme biosynthesis, neurotransmitter biosynthesis, collagen formation and glucocorticoid action.

Drug/Nutrient Interactions
Vit B-6 deficiency has been reported with :
Antituberculosis drug isoniazid
Anti-parkinsonian drugs benserazide and carbidopa hydrazones.
Pyridoxine will reduce the efficacy of levodopa in controlling parkinsonian symptoms, the magnitude of the effect proportional to the dose of pyridoxine. Oral contraceptive or menopausal hormone replacement therapy.

Dosage: 1 to 2 capsules per day or as prescribed by your health professional.
