MelaLite DCx has been found to be a potent tyrosinase and melanogenesis inhibitor. In vitro studies report an IC50 value of 3.62 g/ml and 10.19 g/ml for the anti-tyrosinase and melanogenesis inhibition of MelaLite DCx , respectively. In comparison to well-known skin-brightening ingredients such as kojic acid, the skin-brightening potential of MelaLite DCx is significantly higher, almost 10x more effective than kojic Acid. Turmeric – as the highly absorbable extract and metabolite (Tetrahydrocurcumin) – is very effective in inhibiting the tyrosinase enzyme. This is the enzyme responsible for producing melanin/pigment. It also has anti-aging properties. Liquorice root extract inhibits tyrosinase which prevents dark spots for forming, as well as fading existing darker areas. Pterocarpus marsupium bark extract is highly effective for anti-aging, skin brightening as has natural SPF properties. Glutathione is an excellent tyrosinase inhibitor which prevents melanin/hyperpigmentation from forming. Glutathione is a potent antioxidant which has anti-aging properties. Shea butter has high anti-inflammatory and vitamin content, apart from moisturising and hydrating the skin, it boosts collagen and elastin production in the skin.
