Contains therapeutic doses of a combination of 6 homocysteine- reducing nutrients: folate, vitamins B2, B6 and B12, inositol and zinc.
However, research is unclear whether homocysteine is a cause of cardiovascular disease, or if it is a marker (effect) of existing cardiovascular disease.
Folate is proven to reduce homocysteine levels. Research published in the medical journal, Stroke, indicates that folic acid may reduce the risk of strokes, an effect which may be independent of its effect on homocysteine. Elevated homocysteine has also been noted in some cancers, but it is too early to know if reducing homocysteine will protect against cancer.
