The SUPERPURE 10 inch Slimline Sediment Replacement Water Filter (3-Pack) is a handy pack of sediment filters specifically designed for Slimline filter systems.

The Sediment filter is usually the first stage in a water filtration system. It serves to remove visible dirt particles such as mud, rust, and sand from the water. A Melted-spray filter cartridge has a multi-layer structure and is self-bonded, thus not making use of a chemical binder.

This polypropylene (PP) filter filters out larger particulates with it's minute 5 micron rating enabling you to filter sediment, dirt, dust, sand, rust and other particulates in your water as small as 5 microns in size. The melt blown design of the utilizes a multi-layered structure for improved filtration efficiency, with denser layers at the inside to trap finer particles and coarser layers outside to catch larger particles.

Sediment filters are rated by a micron number. A micron is a unit of length that is equal to one millionth (10-6) of a meter. The most common sediment filters available are 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 and 100um (micron) filters. The micron number refers to the largest dirt particle that will pass through the filter.

After passing through this filter, the water may appear to be clean. However, looks can be deceiving and most water contaminants are smaller than what our eyes can see. These contaminants may not be removable by the sole use of a sediment filter.

Why replace your filters?

Over time water filters become saturated with the contaminants they remove from your water. As they reach this point they become filled with particulates and become less effective at trapping new contaminants compromising the quality of your filtered water. Regular replacement of your filters (as needed) ensures this does not happen.
