The SUPERPURE 2-Stage Big Blue Whole House Water Filtration System on Stand is a simple way of removing unwanted particles from the water supply to your home. This system is a 2-stage water purifier that utilizes an Activated Carbon Block filter cartridge and a Melt Blown Polypropylene (PP) Sediment filter cartridge. The first stage of Polypropylene (PP) filter effective removes sediment, debris and particulates in your water, then passes through the carbon block filter to remove any further contaminants, chlorines or other harmful chemicals and contaminants commonly found in municipal tap water. These systems typically filter water at a peak flow rate of 2400 litres per hour.

A 2-stage under counter carbon block water filter provides a convenient and effective solution for improving the quality and taste of drinking water by removing a wide range of contaminants, making it a popular choice for residential water filtration. Designed for straightforward DIY installation with basic plumbing skills and tools, this filter can save you both time and money compared to more complex filtration systems that require professional installation. Each unit comes with a separate, chrome faucet that is fitted on top of the counter, next to your sink or prep-bowl.

Two Stages of Filtration:

1. A Polypropylene (PP) filter for removing particulates from your water. Polypropylene filters have a tight pore structure that effectively captures sediment, particles, and other impurities present in water. They are capable of removing a wide range of contaminants, including sand, silt, rust, scale, and debris, thus improving water clarity and quality.

This polypropylene (PP) filter filters out larger particulates with it's minute 5 micron rating enabling you to filter sediment, dirt, dust, sand, rust and other particulates in your water as small as 5 microns in size. The melt blown design of the utilizes a multi-layered structure for improved filtration efficiency, with denser layers at the inside to trap finer particles and coarser layers outside to catch larger particles.

2. An Activated Carbon Block (CTO) filter for the removal of harmful chemicals and improved water flavour. Carbon Block Filters are made from finely ground activated carbon particles that are bonded together and formed into a solid block under high pressure. They have a uniform structure that's density can vary depending on the manufacturing process. Due to their dense structure, they generally have a slower flow rate but provide more comprehensive contact time, allowing for better contaminant removal. The tight filtration structure also enables the removal of smaller particles and impurities due to the fine micron rating.

Active Carbon is carbon that has been treated with oxygen to make it porous, but it has also been broken up into granules to further increase the surface area for chemical bondage to occur. The water passes through the GAC filter, allowing the organic materials and chlorine to effectively bond with the carbon molecules, thus removing these from the water.

Activated Carbon has a high surface area, providing a large number of adsorption sites for contaminants; this allows it to effectively adsorb a wide range of impurities, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chlorine and odours from your water. Carbon is particularly effective at removing organic contaminants from water due to its affinity for organic molecules. It can efficiently adsorb organic compounds, such as; pesticides, herbicides, industrial chemicals, and natural organic matter, improving the taste, odour and overall purity of water.

Care and Maintenance:

– You will require some plumbing knowledge and experience to install the system successfully.

– The carbon block and sediment Filters need to be replaced every 3 – 6 months, depending on the source water's quality.

– The Filter housings have a maximum operating pressure of 90 psi. If you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 80 psi, a pressure regulator Must be installed before the filter housing. This action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating. It is recommended that the pressure regulator be set at 70 psi or less. Protect the filter housing from freezing, as this can cause the housing to crack.

– Neither of the filter cartridges included remove lime, minerals or metals from the water. As a result of this, the water may remain cloudy or tinted and may not come out crystal clear.
