The SUPERPURE 3-Stage Big Blue Whole House Water Filtration System on Stand is a 20 inch size Triple Stage Home Water Filtration that is a simple way of effectively removing unwanted particles from the water supply to your home. This system includes 3 stages of filtration including a sediment filter, GAC filter and a carbon block filter.

The first stage of Polypropylene (PP) filter effective removes sediment, debris and particulates in your water, then passes through the granular activated carbon (GAC) filter to remove any volatile organic compounds found in your water and then filters through a final carbon block filter (CTO) to remove any further contaminants, chlorines or other harmful chemicals and contaminants commonly found in municipal tap water. This provides a convenient and effective solution for improving the quality and taste of drinking water by removing a wide range of contaminants, making it a popular choice for residential water filtration.

With this Option the Big Blue Housings are pre-built on to a single stand unit, making it easy to move and easy to install with just a single inlet and outlet. The stand bracket also gives the option of either having the system stand on the ground or have it mounted onto a wall.

Three Stages of Filtration:

1. A Melt Blown Polypropylene (PP) filter for removing particulates from your water. Polypropylene filters have a tight pore structure that effectively captures sediment, particles, and other impurities present in water. They are capable of removing a wide range of contaminants, including sand, silt, rust, scale, and debris, thus improving water clarity and quality.

This melt blown polypropylene (PP) filter filters out larger particulates with it's minute 5 micron rating enabling you to filter sediment, dirt, dust, sand, rust and other particulates in your water as small as 5 microns in size. The melt blown design of the utilizes a multi-layered structure for improved filtration efficiency, with denser layers at the inside to trap finer particles and coarser layers outside to catch larger particles.

2. A Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filter for the removal of harmful chemicals and improved water flavour. Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) has a high surface area, providing a large number of adsorption sites for contaminants; this allows it to effectively adsorb a wide range of impurities, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chlorine and odours from your water. GAC is particularly effective at removing organic contaminants from water due to its affinity for organic molecules. It can efficiently adsorb organic compounds, such as pesticides, herbicides, industrial chemicals, and natural organic matter, improving the taste, odour and overall purity of water.

3. An Activated Carbon Block (CTO) filter for the removal of harmful chemicals and improved water flavour. Carbon Block Filters are made from finely ground activated carbon particles that are bonded together and formed into a solid block under high pressure. They have a uniform structure that's density can vary depending on the manufacturing process. Due to their dense structure, they generally have a slower flow rate but provide more comprehensive contact time, allowing for better contaminant removal. The tight filtration structure also enables the removal of smaller particles and impurities due to the fine micron rating.

Active Carbon is carbon that has been treated with oxygen to make it porous, but it has also been broken up into granules to further increase the surface area for chemical bondage to occur. The water passes through the GAC filter, allowing the organic materials and chlorine to effectively bond with the carbon molecules, thus removing these from the water.

Care and Maintenance:

– You will require some plumbing knowledge and experience to install the system successfully.

– This system is designed for the filtration of municipal water. If you make use of a different water source, such as a bore hole, consult our Source-Water Filtration Solution guide.

– The carbon block, sediment and GAC filters need to be replaced every 3 – 6 months, depending on the source water's quality.

– The Filter housings have a maximum operating pressure of 90 psi. If you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 80 psi, a pressure regulator Must be installed before the filter housing. This action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating. It is recommended that the pressure regulator be set at 70 psi or less.

Protect the filter housing from freezing, as this can cause the housing to crack.

– Non of the filter cartridges included remove lime, minerals or metals from the water. As a result of this, the water may remain cloudy or tinted and may not come out crystal clear.
