Full Frame Lens

The Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD Lens is made for FX full frame DSLR cameras, but will also work for DX crop cameras.

 

90mm focal length, 30cm minimum focus distance, and 1:1 magnification ratio

The 90mm focal length of the lens combined with the 30cm minimum focus distance will enable you to get extreme close-ups, while the 1:1 magnification ratio keeps everything life-sized.

 

3.5 stop VC Vibration Compensation / Vibration Reduction

The Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD lens features a vibration compensation system that features an accelerometer and a gyro. The system is rated up to 3.5 stops and will enable you to get up at shutter speeds up to 12 times slower (down to 1/10th of a second on full frame cameras) than non stabilised lenses, this will enable you to capture sharp pictures in that great golden hour or other low light conditions.

 

LD and XLD Lens Elements

The optical construction includes one LD (Low Dispersion) glass and two XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) glass elements, that in consonance, helps to control lateral and on-axis chromatic aberrations at a very high level. While both offer significantly low dispersion characteristics compared to regular glass materials, the XLD provides prominent dispersion properties across the visible spectrum

 

Internal Ultrasonic Silent Drive autofocus with manual override and focus limiter

A smooth and near silent autofocus drive ensures that focusing doesn’t scare your subject away or capture any unwanted focusing noises during video recording.

The Tamron SP 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro 1:1 VC USD lens focuses with no external movement, making gradient and polarising filters easy to use.

Manual override lets you quickly manual focus without changing lens/camera settings.

A focus limit switch enables you to manually limit the travel range of the focusing group to reduce focus hunting.

 

eBAND and BBAR coatings

eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency) and BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coatings work in tandem to reduce reflections and decrease ghosting and flares when shooting under adverse lighting situations.

 

Moisture-Proof and Dust-Resistant Construction

A rubber seal protects each switch on the lens and sealing member is applied to the mechanical interface between the focus ring and the lens housing. The new construction further expands opportunities for shooting, ensuring reliability even in harsh, windy conditions and immediately after rainfall.

 

Fluorine Coating

The front element features a durable fluorine coating to offer long-lasting oil and water repellency, making cleaning of dirt and smudges easy.
