Activated coconut carbon is the highest quality form of carbon that absorbs organic materials and Chlorine from the water it comes into contact with. The carbon block has a 5micron aperture and serves to remove chlorine and its byproducts from water as well as any organic tastes and odours. Note that Hydrogen Suphide with a rotten egg smell often associated with ground water is not removed by a carbon block.
