The EOS R6 packs the kind of video specifications that can support a serious filmmaking workflow. Canon Log and HDR PQ options help videographers capture more dynamic range, and high quality 10-bit 4:2:2 recording is supported internally to either of the camera’s dual UHS-II SD memory card slots.
The EOS R6 can capture video in a variety of resolutions and frame rates, depending on the look and feel you want to achieve.
At 4K UHD resolution, filmmakers can capture superb clarity and detail and choose a frame rate from a range of values:
23.98p for a cinematic look and feel
25p and 30p for normal reproduction
50p and 60p for reproducing the fluid motion of dynamic subjects, or creating half-speed slow-motion effects
When shooting at Full HD resolution, extra options are available:
100p and 120p for even smoother reproduction of very fast-moving subjects, and extreme quarter-speed slow-motion effects.*
Alongside a conventional still-photo interval timer, the EOS R6 also supports 4K and Full HD time-lapse video capture. This lets videographers capture changes in a scene happening on a much slower timescale than normal, and contrast these with real-time and slow-motion footage.

An in-body five-axis Image Stabiliser provides up to 8 stops of protection against camera shake. And when RF lenses with an optical IS system (except RF 600MM F11 IS STM or RF 800MM F11 IS STM) are fitted to the camera, the two systems work in tandem to deliver an astonishing up to 8-stop advantage.
The camera’s In-body and lens-based IS systems stabilize video too, with a third system – Movie Digital IS – adding another layer of stabilisation and professional-looking results.

Eyes, faces and heads can all be recognised with new levels of precision. The camera can also identify cats, dogs and birds, helping you maintain sharp focus on fast-moving subjects – one of the most challenging aspects of wildlife and domestic photography.
The EOS R6’s autofocus area cover virtually 100 per cent of the frame and can be used individually, in zones, or together as a single focus area with up to 6072 selectable positions. Spot AF has also been added, which uses a very small AF area for extreme precision.

A superb 3.69-dot electronic viewfinder that refreshes at up to 120fps is complimented by a fully articulated Vari-Angle touchscreen that pivots away from the camera’s body and rotates through 270°, letting you shoot from creative angles.
Dual card slots let your record RAW files separately to JPEG/HEIF files, or even stills separately from video, and support the latest UHS-II standards for fast read/write speeds.
